Apologies again

2 min read
Well, last journal entry was me apologising for not having kept up with the various thanks, etc, for people favouriting my pics, following me, etc. And then, I went and stopped again, for even longer.

Now that my PhD is finished, hopefully I'll be able to remember to keep up with it all. Hopefully, you'll also see some more photomanipulations turning up over the next few months, as I finish up some of my works in progress, and make a few new pics. I may also go back and try cleaning up some of my older pics again, or even attempt remaking a couple of the really early ones with some of my more recent techniques.

The first of my new deviations is already up - Lion, Tame Thyself. It's been sitting on my computer, almost ready to post, for quite a while. It took about 5 minutes to put the finishing touches on before submitting it.

EDIT: And just to reemphasise it - thanks to all the people who have either favourited some of my pics or chose to follow me, who I haven't directly thanks. And to those I have thanked, for that matter.

A quick apology

1 min read
I have generally made it a point to post a thank-you to people who Watch me or Favourite one or more of my pics. But since July, I've gotten lazy, and as a result, quite a few Watches and Favourites have built up without a thank-you.

Given the length of the list, I've decided that it would simply take too long to go through and address each one separately, so this Journal post is to all those people who are Watching me or who have Favourite'd one of my pics. I appreciate each and every one of them. Thank you all. It makes me happy that people like my pics. And to those who haven't gotten a specific thank-you on your main Comments page, I apologise for not doing so.

Oh, and if anyone's interested, I do have some more pics in the works. I've also begun working on a sequence for Bamadave - I may post a sample pic from it some time soon. But with my PhD nearing completion, I won't have a lot of time to do photomanipulations.

In my last journal entry, I mentioned that I wanted to do something different for christmas this year. Last year, I did a reindeer TF. I mentioned a few ideas, and some people offered ideas in the comments.

Well, I've come up with something, and hopefully I'll be happy enough with it to post it within the next 24 hours. I think people will find it rather entertaining, as it's definitely something unusual and... well, let's just say that it's rather cool.

Hi everyone.

This happens to be my first journal entry. I've never really felt the need to add journal posts, in general, but I thought it might be cool to make one now, to give people a feel of what I'm working on.

As you might expect, I tend to try to challenge myself a little more every once in a while, to try to improve the quality or extent of my images. As a result, I've got a variety of partially-done images dating from anywhere between yesterday and early 2007. I'm not going to list off every single unfinished piece I've got, but here are some of the somewhat better works I've done.

- Obama the Donkey. This piece is basically done... but I really want it to have a partner piece in the form of McCain the Elephant. Although I didn't even think about doing it until after the election, these two still seem the most appropriate choices to represent the two sides of American politics.

I must say, though, that I really like what I've done with the Obama the Donkey image. Unfortunately, the McCain the Elephant image is much harder - Elephants are particularly hard to photomanip a person into, especially if seen from the front.

- Aielyn the Skunk. If you've looked at my gallery, you'll see that this one is actually already up as a "Work In Progress"... I've made a bit more progress since then, but I'm not yet satisfied.

- A few more Quarkmaster Touchups are partially done. They're not easy to get looking convincing, though. The best of them so far is the "Humarilla" stand-alone image. There are also a few other "touchup" images I've played around with, from other sources, including a few videogame screenshots (indeed, my "Realistic Link" image is fairly good... but not up to standard, yet).

- BalloonWoman. This one I think is cool as an idea - a woman sitting amongst balloons... and parts of her body are becoming balloon-like, too. The breasts are done, and look somewhat convincing (with tied balloon-ends as nipples), but I'm not satisfied with it, yet.

- A really subtle dog TF of beingabovine - meant to be at the early stages of transformation.

- Another TF of myself. This time, 4 arms (stacked one pair above the other with shoulders for each, rather than front-and-back or one pair sticking out of the chest), and 1 eye... basically, a four-armed cyclops. I'm undecided whether or not to do some further changes (like adding muscle, or things like that).

- Female Minotaur TF. Intended to be a partner to my Minos would be proud piece. Looks decent, but still needs a lot of work.

- A full-body naked horse TF. This one is near to being ready to submit. It's looking quite good. One interesting thing I did with this image is I took the guy's penis and balls, and made them part-way towards being equine, meaning it's now got a sheath... still flaccid and everything, though. I was surprised at how convincing the sheath I created on the image came out to look.

So that's what's brewing at the moment. There are also other ideas I'd like to work on, but I require stock for them, and an idea of how to make them work. Here are just a few of the ideas:

- A vehicular transformation. Either into a car or a motorbike, I'm thinking. But yeah, this sort of transformation is difficult to get looking right.

- Giraffe transformation. Male or female, I don't care... but the stock image needs to have head, neck, and shoulders clearly distinguished (so I can manipulate them easily), plenty of room above the head in the image for me to migrate the head/neck into, and preferably some more of the body - a hand would be good. The stock image needs to also be profile, or else I won't be able to make it look convincing.

- A new Christmas TF... last year, I did Rudolph's Replacement, a reindeer TF. I want something different for this one, but there aren't that many christmas-suited TFs. Maybe a partridge (in a pear tree, that is)? Or maybe an image involving opening presents (and thus freeing me to choose an easier TF event - it's the magic of christmas)? I suppose I could try a christmas tree TF... but that's a hard one to figure out in my mind.

- Gender change. A lot of these tend to be the "gender-bender" type - one gender above the waist, the other below. I want an intermediate-form image - so for instance the clitoris is part way through the process of becoming a penis (or vice versa). Probably best-accomplished using a male stock image, irrespective of which way the TF is supposed to go.

- Something more exotic. A centaur, or some sort of insect, or a computer, or a hydra, or something like that.

- A pokemon TF. I've played with ideas like Machamp, Pikachu (who hasn't?), or Deoxys, but nothing has really stuck, yet. Perhaps someone has an idea for a really effective and different pokemon TF - something people don't normally choose for these sorts of TFs.

I know, I know, really long first journal entry. Unfortunately, it's just in my nature to go on, and on, and on.

Anyway, if anyone has suggestions/ideas for new TF images, has stock images they think I could have a go at (I make no promises, and accept no commissions - sorry, but I do this for fun and the challenge), or has ideas on how to further challenge myself, I'd love to hear them... just post a comment to this journal entry, I'm all ears. Oh, and please don't just comment "tl;dr" or "too long", because I know it's a long journal entry, and if you don't read it, there's no point commenting on it.
